Matt Skawinski, PRC
President
A graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Matt earned his dual-major Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematical Sciences and Management Engineering in 1994. After moving to Dallas and teaching with the nationally recognized Project SEED, he began his marketing research career in 1996 in the phone room at M/A/R/C Research, and quickly moved his way through the ranks of production - survey programming, data processing, and tabulation. In 1998, joined Directions Research in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a senior data analyst and was highlighted as one of Cincinnati Enquirer's "People on the Move".
Deciding that Dallas really was the place to be, Matt gained additional experience at AOL/DMS (Digital Marketing Services) as a technical developer/data specialist, and at SPSS as a technical operations data consultant, before landing at Common Knowledge in 2003 as the Director of Quality Control. During his tenure at Common Knowledge, he successfully led the development and growth of the quality control department. In 2007, he rose to Vice President of Quality Control where he was the architect behind the company’s data editing, cleaning, and tabulation software training programs. He also implemented quality standards for the firm, as well defined and executed employee development, reward, retention, and recognition programs for the Common Knowledge team. In his spare time, he found the inspiration to pen the entire user's manual for the free market research data cleaning, manipulation, weighting, and cross tabulation software CCOUNT.
Common Knowledge President and Founder, Steve Lavine, commented: "Matt has proven his value to Common Knowledge many times over, guiding us through the painful but valuable process of design and implementation of numerous quality control programs while developing his staff to serve each of our clients."
Matt continued his upward trajectory after Common Knowledge was acquired by Toluna in 2008, taking on a Client Services Director role for the Consultative Account Solutions group. Here, he was able to leverage his knowledge of research and data and translate it into value-add services for a multitude of clients, most notably Ad and PR Firms with little or no MR industry knowledge.
In summary, Matt is a veteran data specialist with a heartfelt passion and commitment to error-free, on-time deliverables. His experience with a multitude of survey and data processing platforms gives him a unique understanding of data, and his ability to teach and mentor others about data and data processing best practices is a formidable strength which he brings to the table each and every day. We encourage you to put his extensive knowledge to work for you on your next project - whether it be big or small.
